WPT Power Transmission Releases Hydraulic PTO Prototype
WPT Power Transmission recently released a Prototype PTO, W15-CG-309, for field test to a European manufacturer of mobile rock crushers. This particular PTO delivers 117,000 + inch pounds of torque from an extremely compact overall size of only 22 inches from the back of the clutch to the end of the shaft.
The unit's application is on a mobile concrete grinder which uses hydraulic actuation. The maximum pressure of actuation is 500 psi (35 bar), and has a capacity of up to 600 HP. As with other WPT products, this unit also does not require a pilot bearing.
The W15-CG-309 uses SAE #1 bell housing and is similar to a 314H style PTO. The new hydraulically actuated clutch PTO can be an update to any engine driven application using an old style over center clutch PTO design. It is an especially good fit for mobile equipment which is already utilizing Hydraulics in the system. The PTO can be handily controlled from a remote location in a panel and the absence of a pilot bearing eliminates another troublesome feature due to slippage.
WPT has created several innovative designs in the past few years and is known for the ability to quickly produce a product that is superior for specific uses.
